Twitch Sees 8% Drop in Viewership for February

As indicated by the monthly State of the Stream report from StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg, Twitch experienced an 8% decline in viewership during February, totaling 1.7 billion hours watched. In comparison, the platform saw 1.6 billion hours watched during the same month last year. With a daily average of 60 million hours watched, this marked the first decrease since September 2023. The top games for the month continued to be dominated by Grand Theft Auto 5 and League of Legends. The most popular games on Twitch for the month included: Grand Theft Auto 5 with 152 million hours, League of Legends with 126 million hours, Valorant with 88 million hours, Fortnite with 62 million hours, CS: GO with 58 million hours, DOTA 2 with 44 million hours, Call of Duty Warzone with 34 million hours, Apex Legends with 31 million hours, and Minecraft with 26 million hours. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 debuted as the 14th most-watched title, accumulating 19 million hours. According to StreamElements co-founder Or Perry, "the daily hours watched provide a more accurate representation of the platform's momentum, considering the impact of the number of days in a month on overall hours watched." Perry further stated, "if this level of engagement is maintained, this year is likely to surpass the previous one, given that February's numbers are nearly on par with January's and higher than the last three quarters."
