Asia-Pacific Dominates Mobile Gaming Revenue in 2023 with 64% Share
The Asia-Pacific region was responsible for 64% of worldwide mobile gaming expenditure in 2023, as stated in a report by Global Data, with the sector reaching $124 billion in revenue. North America followed, holding 18% of the market, while Europe accounted for 12% of the global mobile gaming revenue for the year. China emerged as the top-spending nation, contributing 31% to global mobile gaming revenue, with the US coming in second at 17%. Rupantar Guha, a principal analyst at GlobalData, emphasized that regulatory factors will continue to play a crucial role in the mobile gaming market. The impact of regulations on in-app purchases, data privacy, child safety, antitrust laws, artificial intelligence, and app store commissions will be felt across the industry. Looking ahead, Global Data forecasts that mobile gaming revenue will reach $195 billion by 2030.
