Veterans from Naughty Dog, Id Software, and Activision Unite to Form Empty Vessel

A group of seasoned developers from renowned studios like Naughty Dog, Id Software, and Activision have come together to launch Empty Vessel, a Texas-based game development studio. Emanuel Palalic, serving as CEO and game director, and Garrett Young, as COO and general manager, will spearhead the studio's operations. Both executives have a rich background, having worked on iconic titles such as Doom and Quake Champions during their tenure at Id Software. According to Young, "The gaming industry stands at an intersection of business and talent, and at Empty Vessel, we prioritize a developer-centric approach in our strategy and execution." He further emphasized, "History has shown that innovation in our industry is often driven by developers who dare to take risks, which has led to the creation of new IPs and billion-dollar franchises. The next big hit in gaming can emerge from anywhere." The development team at Empty Vessel boasts an impressive portfolio, having contributed to acclaimed series like Call of Duty, The Last of Us, and Uncharted. Backed by an initial seed funding round led by Sisu Game Ventures, with additional support from Raptor Group, Bill Munk, and Dan Bunting, this independent AAA game studio is currently developing a sci-fi shooter inspired by dystopian themes.
