Capcom Announces Salary Boost: 5% Average Increase and 28% Rise for New Graduates
Capcom has revealed plans to increase salaries for all employees in the upcoming fiscal year. The Japanese gaming giant aims to implement an average pay rise of over 5% in fiscal year 2024, which concludes on March 31, 2025. Furthermore, the company is set to significantly increase the starting salaries of new graduate hires in fiscal year 2025, with a 28% boost from ¥235,000 ($1,590) to ¥300,000 ($2,006) per month. To complement this pay increase for new recruits, all existing employees, including those hired in fiscal year 2024, will receive a one-time additional payment. This move is part of Capcom's ongoing Human Resources Investment strategy, which has already led to a 30% average increase in base salaries since 2022, the introduction of a performance-linked bonus system, and a new employee stock-based compensation scheme. According to the company, this salary increase demonstrates its commitment to investing in human capital and attracting exceptional talent. Following a successful year, with net sales rising 33% to ¥106 billion ($723 million), operating income increasing 43% to ¥47.7 billion ($325 million), and net income growing 47% to ¥34.6 billion ($236 million), Capcom is poised to continue its growth trajectory.
