Temtem to Eliminate In-Game Purchases by June
Crema, the developer behind Temtem, has made the announcement to discontinue microtransactions within the game starting June. Through an open letter posted on the Steam platform, the Spanish-based developer acknowledged and responded to player concerns regarding in-game purchases and the overall monetization strategy. The letter states, "It has become clear that Temtem's monetization approach did not align with player expectations, deviating from the conventional live-service game model." "Although it is premature to discuss future project monetization, the lessons learned from this experience will be taken into consideration for upcoming projects," the developer noted. Consequently, the removal of Temtem's microtransactions and its monetization system is slated to occur with the release of the game's 1.7 patch in early June. While the premium in-game currency, Nova, will no longer be available for purchase after the specified date, existing owners can continue utilizing their remaining balance to acquire in-game items like cosmetic accessories. All previously exclusive items that required Nova for purchase will become accessible using the game's standard in-game currency, known as Feathers.
