NetEase Sees 7.2% Revenue Increase to $14.6 Billion in 2023
NetEase has unveiled its 2023 financial results, showcasing a notable expansion across all sectors, with a significant boost in its gaming division. The company's total revenue grew from RMB 96.5 billion ($13.4 billion) to RMB 103.5 billion ($14.6 billion), marking a 7.2% year-over-year increase. Net profits also rose by 19.5% to RMB 63.1 billion ($8.9 billion) in 2023, up from RMB 52.8 billion ($7.3 billion) in the previous year. The gaming segment saw a 9.4% increase in revenue, reaching RMB 81.6 billion ($11.5 billion) compared to RMB 74.6 billion ($10.3 billion) in 2022. This growth is attributed to the success of its online games, particularly new mobile titles such as Eggy Party and Justice, with mobile games accounting for approximately 75.2% of the segment's earnings, up from 67% in 2022. According to NetEase CEO and director William Ding, '2023 was a pivotal year for NetEase Games, marked by continuous innovation across multiple categories, further diversifying our extensive game portfolio.' Ding highlighted the company's ability to deliver dynamic and original products across various genres, citing the success of games like Egg Party, Racing Master, and Dunk City Dynasty, while maintaining a strategic advantage in the MMO sector with titles like Justice.
