Radical Forge Announces Staff Reductions Due to Restructuring
Initial report: Radical Forge, an independent game development studio, has undergone a round of layoffs, affecting an unspecified number of staff members. According to a company spokesperson, the decision was made due to minor restructuring within the organization. The spokesperson stated that a small number of employees were informed that their roles were no longer required for current or upcoming projects, resulting in the early termination of their contracts. The spokesperson assured that these changes will not impact the delivery of existing projects. The company expressed sadness over the situation, citing its people-focused culture and commitment to supporting affected staff in finding new opportunities. Founded in 2017 by CEO Bruce Slater and CTO Freddie Baboard, Radical Forge has co-developed several notable titles, including Gang Beasts, Sea of Thieves, and Zombie Army 4. The studio also released its first original IP, Bright Paw, in 2020, and received funding from Private Division's Development Fund in 2022 to support its second original IP. An update from former junior tech game designer Louis EscudiƩ reports that six employees have been affected by the layoffs.
