Toys For Bob Breaks Away from Activision Blizzard

Toys For Bob has announced its decision to regain independence, separating from Activision Blizzard. In a statement, co-founders Paul Yan and Avery Lodato expressed their enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, "The time has come for us to elevate our studio and future projects to new heights." This move allows the studio to revert to its humble beginnings as a agile and innovative team. Although parting ways with Activision Blizzard, Toys For Bob is in discussions with Microsoft regarding a potential collaboration. The studio is currently working on an unannounced game title. Yan and Lodato acknowledged the support of Activision and Microsoft in their new venture. The studio's future location remains uncertain, following Microsoft's recent layoffs of 86 Toys For Bob developers and the closure of its physical office. Established in 1989, Toys For Bob has contributed to several iconic franchises, including Star Control, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Guitar Hero, before achieving significant success with Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. The studio has also developed Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Crash Team Rumble, and has participated in Call of Duty projects such as Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
