NetEase Launches New AAA Game Studio BulletFarm Under Leadership of Industry Veteran David Vonderhaar

NetEase Games has established a new Western studio, BulletFarm, with David Vonderhaar, a veteran of Treyarch and the Call of Duty series, at the helm. The Los Angeles-based studio operates remotely and is already working on a AAA title utilizing Unreal Engine 5. Details about the game are scarce, but it is confirmed to be a first-person cooperative experience set in an original universe. Vonderhaar, who spent 18 years at Treyarch, expressed his excitement about the new venture, stating that it allows him to explore fresh ideas and create something distinct from his previous work. He is joined by fellow Call of Duty veteran Chris Cowell, who has taken on the role of creative director. This move is part of NetEase's broader strategy to expand its presence in the Western gaming market by establishing studios led by experienced industry professionals.
