Marcus Lehto, the founder of Ridgeline Games, has announced his departure from the EA studio responsible for the Battlefield series. In a social media statement, Lehto confirmed that he left the studio of his own volition. He expressed his gratitude to the Battlefield community for their feedback, which he believes will contribute to the game's growth. Lehto wished the EA teams well and stated that he will be taking a break from the gaming industry to explore his future options. According to IGN, EA has confirmed that Lehto's departure will not impact the development of Battlefield 2042 or the upcoming Battlefield Universe. With over two decades of experience in the gaming industry, Lehto has had a notable career, including co-founding the Halo franchise and establishing V1 Interactive, which developed the sci-fi FPS game Disintegration before its closure in 2021.
