EA Expands Accessibility Commitment with New Patent Additions

Electronic Arts has further strengthened its dedication to gaming accessibility by incorporating four additional patents into its pledge. According to Vice President Farah Ali, this move aligns with the company's mission to create a more inclusive gaming environment for players with disabilities and medical conditions. The newly added patents comprise: an automated control system that mimics a player's style when they stop interacting with a game, an adaptive tutorial system offering personalized guidance, a route navigation feature designed to aid players in navigating complex game worlds, and a personalized coaching tool providing in-game insights to enhance player performance. Since launching its Accessibility First Patent Pledge in 2021 with five initial patents, EA has consistently expanded its accessibility efforts, adding six more patents in 2022 and making its IRIS photosensitivity analysis tool open source in 2023.
