UK Women-Led Studios Secure £215,000 Funding Boost

Innovate UK has presented five women-led UK studios with a prestigious award, featuring a total grant of £215,000. The funding package comprises business grants and personal allowances, accompanied by 12 months of comprehensive support for the recipient studios. The awardees include Glowfrog Games' Kate Killick, Peanut & Crumb's Jane Gerber, Silver Script Games' Alyx Jones, Dot Dot Fire's Hilary Lok, and Konglomerate Games' Connie Reid. While four studios received £50,000 each, Glowfrog Games was awarded £15,000, consisting of a £5,000 business grant and a £10,000 personal living allowance. "Receiving this award from Innovate UK is a significant milestone for Glowfrog Games," Killick stated. "The gaming industry still poses substantial challenges for women in accessing support and funding, but initiatives like this are pivotal in shaping a more promising future." These five studios are among over 200 entrepreneurs being supported by Innovate UK, with a total funding allocation of £6.2 million.
