Krafton Sees 3% Increase in Sales for 2023

Krafton, the publisher of PUBG, has released its annual financial report, revealing a 3% increase in sales. Key highlights from the report include: - Annual sales: KRW1.9 trillion ($1.4 billion), representing a 3% year-over-year increase - Annual profit: KRW500 billion ($375 million), marking a 30% year-over-year increase - Q4 sales: KRW534 billion ($401 million), up 13% year-over-year - Q4 profit: KRW600 billion ($451 million), up 19% year-over-year Krafton's sales growth can be attributed in part to the success of PUBG on PC and consoles. According to CEO CH Kim, "With stable performance achieved last year, primarily driven by the PUBG IP, we were able to focus on securing multiple upcoming titles. We are now poised to take a significant leap forward." "This year will be a pivotal milestone for Krafton's gradual growth, as we begin to reap the rewards of our efforts," Kim added. The company achieved record monthly sales in December, thanks to the resurgence of Battlegrounds Mobile India. After addressing concerns over user data security, India granted Battlegrounds Mobile India a three-month trial period. Looking ahead to 2024, Krafton plans to launch a new title every year as part of its "scale-up creative" strategy. This plan includes titles such as Dinkum Mobile, Project Black Budget, and Subnautica 2. The company has also invested in over ten game projects as part of its expansion efforts.
