Stoke Games Secures $5.5 Million in Funding for Innovative PvP Game

Stoke Games has announced the successful completion of a $5.5 million funding round for its inaugural game title, a unique PvP game that blends elements of shooter games with strategic gameplay. The studio, comprising 14 members, was co-founded by Veigar Bouius and Jon Diesta, who previously worked on Multiversus at Player First Games. According to Bouius, the game offers a fresh experience for players, with an emphasis on strategy, game knowledge, and player judgment, setting it apart from traditional shooters. The funding round was led by Bitkraft Ventures, with participation from Riot Games, 1Up Ventures, and several angel investors. Jasper Brand of Bitkraft Ventures expressed enthusiasm for the project, citing the team's experience in identifying and capitalizing on genre opportunities, as seen in their work on successful multiplayer games over the past decade.
