The International Game Developers Association has launched a new Incubation Special Interest Group, bringing together over 80 gaming incubators and accelerators from more than 50 countries. Under the leadership of Sho Sato, co-founder of the indie Game incubator, the group will offer mentorship programs, an open-source toolkit, and joint exhibition opportunities. Additionally, it will host international events for gaming startups, providing access to platforms and investment opportunities. The core committee features Pedro Santoro Zambon as vice chairman, Tiziano Giardini as treasurer, and Olle Pridiuksson as communication leader. The group is also advised by industry experts, including Jason Della Rocca, Kadri Harma, and JP van Seventer. Seven regional leaders have been appointed to represent Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, North America, and Oceania. According to Sato, "The IGDA Incubation SIG envisions a collaborative ecosystem that fosters growth and innovation among gaming startups, and we are eager to turn this vision into reality." By providing a supportive network, the group aims to nurture the roots of gaming innovation and entrepreneurship.
