Unveiling GamesIndustry.biz's Black Voices Progress Report

To commemorate the beginning of Black History Month, GamesIndustry.biz launches its Black Voices Progress Report. Throughout the month, a series of articles will delve into the experiences of Black professionals in the gaming sector, offering a glimpse into their unique journeys. While the industry has made strides in diversity, there is still a significant gap to bridge, with Black individuals comprising only 3% of the industry despite making up 13% of the US population. This project aims to highlight the accomplishments and challenges faced by Black professionals, celebrating their contributions and promoting a more inclusive gaming community. The Black Voices Progress Report is part of a broader initiative exploring the gaming industry's progress on key issues, including support for underrepresented groups. The series kicks off with an interview with Curtis Baxter, senior games writer at Cliffhanger Games, and will feature a range of interviews with Black professionals, including Danielle McRae, Del Walker, Adanna Nedd, Junae Benne, Akua Harris, Vanessa Brasfield, and Funké Joseph.
