Airship Syndicate Reduces Workforce by 12 Amid Restructuring Efforts
A reported 12 employees have been let go from the Airship Syndicate development studio. According to a report by Polygon's senior reporter, Nicole Carpenter, both president Ryan Stefanelli and CEO Joe Madureira are also undergoing pay reductions as the company undergoes restructuring. A representative stated, "This move is necessary to ensure Airship Syndicate's continued operation and ability to provide excellent experiences." This development follows last November's announcement by Digital Extremes, the publisher of Wayfinder, that it would be dropping the title, resulting in layoffs and Airship Syndicate gaining full publishing control. Founded in 2014 and based in Austin, Texas, Airship Syndicate launched Wayfinder in early access last August, which received mixed reviews.
