PlayStation's State of Play Highlights Death Stranding 2 and Kojima's New Stealth Game

During its recent State of Play event, Sony revealed a plethora of upcoming titles for the PlayStation 5, culminating in an in-depth preview of Death Stranding 2. Titled Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the sequel sees the return of Norman Reedus as Sam Bridges and Léa Seydoux, with an increased emphasis on combat as they attempt to expand the network to new lands. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5 in 2025. Hideo Kojima also announced that his studio is working on a next-generation tactical espionage game for the PS5, drawing inspiration from the Metal Gear Solid series, although development will commence after Death Stranding 2's launch. One of the biggest surprises of the event was the sudden release of Silent Hill: The Short Message, a new first-person horror game available for free. This was followed by a fresh look at the remake of Silent Hill 2. Additionally, Sega announced Sonic x Shadow Generations, which builds upon the formula established in Sonic Generations, featuring the return of Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow will also appear in the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog 3 film. Sony further announced that the popular horror game Until Dawn is being remastered for the PlayStation 5 and will also be released on PC, with both versions arriving this year. Other notable announcements include PS5 ports of indie hits such as Dave The Diver, which will arrive in April with Godzilla-themed DLC in May, as well as V Rising and Zenless Zone Zero. The PlayStation VR 2 also saw the announcement of two new titles: Legendary Tales and Metro Awakening, a spin-off of the first-person shooter series based on Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels. The event also featured a new story trailer for Judas, the upcoming game from BioShock director Ken Levine, along with extended previews of Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, and new trailers for Dragon's Dogma, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2.
