Former Volition Developers Launch New Studio, Shapeshifter Games

A team of veteran developers from Volition has come together to establish Shapeshifter Games, with Matt Madigan at the helm as studio head. Madigan announced the studio's launch on social media, stating, "We aim to provide a stable workforce model, supporting developers and publishers in their growth. It's been great to reconnect with former colleagues and help those impacted by the industry." Shapeshifter Games has also partnered with InXile Entertainment as a co-developer for the forthcoming RPG, Clockwork Revolution. According to InXile president Chris Keenan, "Our primary focus was to ensure the team had a smooth transition onto Clockwork Revolution, and we're grateful to have made it happen so efficiently. Forming new development partnerships can be tough, but this collaboration felt natural from the start." This news emerges five months after Volition Games ceased operations as part of Embracer's ongoing restructuring efforts.
