Eidos Montreal Announces Staff Reduction of 97 Employees

Eidos Montreal, a subsidiary of Embracer Group, has confirmed that it is reducing its workforce by 97 employees across various departments, including development, administration, and support services. In a statement released on social media, the company cited the current global economic climate, industry challenges, and the comprehensive restructuring efforts announced by Embracer Group as the reasons behind this decision. Eidos Montreal expressed its commitment to supporting the affected personnel during this transition period, acknowledging their exceptional talent and experience. Meanwhile, according to anonymous sources, Embracer Group has also canceled the development of an untitled Deus Ex project at Eidos Montreal, opting to focus on an original intellectual property instead. This move follows a series of layoffs by Embracer Group in 2023, resulting in over 900 job losses, as well as an earlier round of redundancies at Lost Boys Interactive in January.
