Long-standing UK Recruitment Agency OPM to Cease Operations After 26 Years

After 26 years of service, One Player Mission (OPM), a specialist games recruitment agency, is set to close its doors. The agency, which currently has a staff of 15, has been impacted by the current state of the games industry. According to Managing Director Kim Parker-Adcock, the company's profitability is under threat due to the industry's present circumstances. This decision follows a significant decline in games industry roles and a substantial increase in candidates, resulting in over 10,000 industry professionals losing their jobs in the past year. While the industry is expected to recover, leaders predict it may take up to two years for a full rebound. Parker-Adcock expressed her sadness at the decision, stating that despite exploring all options, the company cannot overcome its current challenges. She has pledged to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition for all parties involved, including employees, clients, and partners.
