Obelisk Studio Secures $2 Million Investment from The Games Fund

Obelisk Studio has successfully raised $2 million in funding from The Games Fund, which will be utilized to develop its inaugural intellectual property, a psychological action-horror game titled Displacement. Previously, the Cyprus-based gaming company focused on co-development projects, including notable titles such as Sons of Forest, Call of Duty, Fallout 76, and New World. According to Artem Dorokhin, co-founder and CEO of Obelisk Studio, "The Games Fund has demonstrated significant trust and support in our company, providing us with the necessary resources and industry connections to establish critical infrastructure, make key appointments, and launch the company in a remarkably short timeframe." Ilya Eremeev, co-founder and managing partner at The Games Fund, stated: "Obelisk Studio boasts one of the most experienced teams in the region, adheres to ethical management practices, and is developing an original IP that showcases an inspiring yet terrifying horror game. We are committed to ongoing support and investment in Cyprus's burgeoning game industry, ensuring that local talent receives the necessary backing to thrive." The Games Fund introduced a $50 million early-stage investment fund in 2021 to support video game companies across Europe and the US.
