31st Union Reduces Workforce by a Limited Number
2K's subsidiary, 31st Union, has confirmed that it laid off a limited number of employees. According to a report by Kotaku, fewer than ten staff members were affected by the decision, which the studio claims is part of its efforts to provide the best possible support for its operations and game development. The company expressed that such decisions are difficult but believes in the studio's positive trajectory, emphasizing its continued recruitment for key positions and plans for expansion in the coming year. Founded by Michael Condrey, co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, in 2019 as 2K Silicon Valley, the studio was later renamed 31st Union in 2020. In a 2019 interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Condrey mentioned that the studio was working on a new, unreleased intellectual property.
