CI Games Reduces Workforce by 10%
CI Games has confirmed a 10% reduction in staff across all departments, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. According to sources, the majority of the marketing team has been let go, with subsidiaries Hexworks and Underdog also being affected. In a statement, CEO Marek TymiĆski explained that the decision was made to 'preserve business strength and stability'. The company expressed gratitude to the departing employees and announced further business process optimizations. This move comes after the release of Lords of the Fallen, which was the company's most expensive project to date, costing PLN 281 million. Despite this, the game performed well, selling over one million copies within ten days, surpassing the sales of the original 2014 title.
