Wimo Games Ceases Operations
Former employees of Texas-based Wimo Games took to social media to announce the studio's closure. According to Walter Hill, associate software engineer, the independent game developer and publisher has ceased operations. This news was also confirmed by principal concept artist Kevin T. Chin. Hill revealed to Kotaku that the studio had 35 employees at the time of its shutdown. GamesIndustry.biz has attempted to contact Wimo Games for further details regarding the shutdown decision. Founded in 2021, Wimo Games is known for developing titles such as Battle Bows, Micro Machines: Mini Challenge Mayhem, and RPG Dice: Heroes of Whitestone. In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz on January 19, Wimo CEO Dave Rosen confirmed the shutdown, expressing his pride in the team's work and gratitude to the players who supported their games. Rosen also announced that the team members will be seeking new job opportunities and have been provided with severance packages to aid in their transition.
