Cyberpunk 2077's Redemption: A Miracle Born of Hard Work and Luck

After a three-year journey, I revisited Cyberpunk 2077 and found it to be an engaging experience, thanks to the numerous patches and the Phantom Liberty expansion. This turnaround is not just a result of the developer's efforts, but also a combination of fortunate circumstances. The game's success can be attributed to CD Projekt Red's decision to invest time and resources into fixing the game, unlike major publishers who would have abandoned it. The Netflix animated series Edgerunners and advancements in technology also played a significant role in revitalizing interest in the game. While Cyberpunk 2077's redemption is an inspiring story, it should not be seen as a template for other games to follow, as it required a unique combination of hard work, luck, and timing. Instead, it serves as a reminder of the importance of launching a game in a playable state and the challenges of recovering from a poor launch.
