Global Mobile Gaming Revenue Sees 2% Decline, Reaching $107 Billion in 2023
According to a recent report by Data.ai, the global mobile gaming market generated $107 billion in revenue in 2023, marking a 2% year-over-year decline. The report highlights that mobile gamers spent an average of $1.5 billion per week on games, with over 1.1 billion downloads throughout the year. China led the market in terms of player spending, with a total of $37.6 billion, followed by the US, Japan, South Korea, and Germany. In terms of downloads, hypercasual puzzle games took the top spot with 16.4 billion downloads, followed by simulation and action games. China also dominated mobile game downloads, accounting for 29.32 billion downloads, followed by India, Brazil, the US, and Indonesia. The report also reveals that RPGs, such as Genshin Impact, generated $24.5 billion in revenue worldwide, with strategy, match, and casino games also performing well. The top three mobile titles by consumer spending globally were Evony, Lineage M, and Honkai: Star Rail.
