The Last of Us Dominates 2023 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

The HBO series The Last of Us made a clean sweep at the 2023 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, claiming eight prestigious awards. The Creative Emmys recognize excellence in technical and behind-the-scenes achievements, as well as exceptional performances by actors. Notably, Nick Offerman earned the Outstanding Guest Actor award for his compelling portrayal of Bill in the episode 'Long, Long Time', while Storm Reid secured the Outstanding Guest Actress award for her memorable role as Riley Abel. The show garnered six awards for its outstanding production, including Best Main Title Design, Picture Editing for a Drama Series, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series, Special Visual Effects, and Prosthetic Makeup. Additionally, The Last of Us received nominations at the 2024 Golden Globes, held on the same evening, with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey nominated for their powerful performances as Joel and Ellie, although they were edged out by Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook from Succession. The live-action adaptation of the popular video game received a total of 24 nominations across the Creative Arts Emmys and the Primetime Emmys, scheduled to take place on January 16.
