CD Projekt Red Maintains Commitment to Independence

According to a recent interview, CD Projekt Red, the development studio behind Cyberpunk 2077, has reaffirmed its disinterest in being acquired by a larger gaming entity. Adam Kiciński, who recently transitioned to the role of chief strategy officer, expressed his commitment to the company's independence, citing its ambitious plans and passion for its work. When asked about potential acquisitions, Kiciński stated that the company is not currently planning to purchase any other firms but remains open to opportunities that could accelerate the implementation of its strategy. This stance comes on the heels of the company's announcement that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold over 25 million units since its launch in 2020, with its latest expansion, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, selling three million copies upon its release in September 2023.
