Sega Europe Undergoes Leadership Revamp as Jurgen Post Makes a Comeback

In a significant overhaul of its leadership, Sega Europe has announced the return of Jurgen Post, a former president, to the role of COO of West Studios and regional managing director. This move marks Post's return to the company after a stint at Tencent and a tenure as CEO of Miniclip. His previous term at Sega Europe, from 2012 to 2017, was characterized by substantial growth. Concurrently, the company is bidding farewell to two veteran executives: President and CEO Gary Dale, who joined in 2018, and Chief Studios Officer Tim Heaton, who has been with Sega since 2009. Heaton's career trajectory included a promotion to leadership following Post's initial departure and later taking on his current role in 2020. The Sega group has expressed appreciation for the contributions of both departing executives and wishes them success in their future endeavors. This leadership shuffle comes on the heels of several months of adjustments to Sega's European operations, including layoffs at Creative Assembly due to the cancellation of the multiplayer title Hyenas, a decision attributed to the region's lower profitability.
