Barnyard Games Raises $3.4 Million in Seed Funding
Barnyard Games, a recently launched game development studio, has successfully secured $3.4 million in its initial funding round. The studio's primary objective is to create high-quality, AAA titles by leveraging the Unreal Editor for Fortnite. The funding round was led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from BetaWorks, Alumni Ventures, and Charge VC. The founding team comprises industry veterans, including Matthew Armstrong, who oversees creative vision, John Blakely, the CEO, Mark Cieslar, head of product and technology, and Christopher Sturr, the chief operating officer. According to Blakely, "The Unreal Editor for Fortnite offers a vast, uncharted territory, full of exciting possibilities, allowing us to innovate while empowering players to shape their virtual worlds." He further added, "We're eager to see how gamers respond to Barnyard's unique approach to game development, and we'll continue to refine our approach based on player feedback, focusing on creating experiences that are both entertaining and foster strong social connections."
