Alyssa Walles Joins Midwest Games as Chief Operating Officer

Midwest Games has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Alyssa Walles as its new Chief Operating Officer. Walles brings over two decades of experience to the role, having served on Atari's board of directors for nearly a decade and founded her own consulting firm, Amplitude, which she led for over 17 years. She also currently serves as the part-time executive director of the IGDA Foundation. Additionally, Gina Joseph, VentureBeat's Chief Strategy Officer, has joined the company's board of directors, while Larry 'Major Nelson' Hryb, a veteran of Xbox, has been appointed to Midwest Games' advisory board. According to Midwest Games CEO Ben Kvalo, these new appointments will be instrumental in driving the company's mission to create and foster opportunities for all, regardless of location. Since its founding by Kvalo and XSET alum Rob Martin in August, and securing $3 million in funding in October, Midwest Games has been focused on creating opportunities for underrepresented communities in the gaming industry, with its first published title being Gylee Games' Ra Ra Boom.
