The latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series has achieved a milestone as the most-watched new game trailer on YouTube, with its launch trailer garnering over 142 million views since its release. Initially, the trailer was viewed over 142 million times, solidifying its position as a highly anticipated game. Furthermore, YouTube reported that gaming content creators and the community at large have generated over 250 million views of GTA 6-related content. Notably, the trailer accumulated 93 million views within the first 24 hours of its release, corroborating data previously shared with GamesIndustry.biz, which indicated that it had amassed 96.8 million views in just over nine hours. According to Leo Olebe, global head of YouTube Gaming, "The Grand Theft Auto series has long been a cornerstone of the entertainment industry, and we anticipate that the YouTube community and its creators will continue to push boundaries with Grand Theft Auto 6 for years to come." Olebe further stated, "The fact that this series has set a new all-time record is a testament to its profound cultural influence." The GTA 6 trailer was released prematurely on December 5, following a leak on social media platforms. Rockstar also announced that the game is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles in 2025.
