Nintendo Remains Top Publisher in Japan's Monthly Sales Rankings

In Japan, during the month of November, Nintendo Switch sales reached 296,000 units across all models. According to Famitsu's retail sales data from October 30 to November 26, this surpasses Sony's PlayStation 5 sales, which stood at 231,000 units for the month. Notably, Sony's hardware sales saw a significant year-on-year increase of nearly 80%, following a price adjustment. In terms of physical game sales, Konami's new release, Momotaro Dentetsu World: The Earth Spins with Hope, debuted on November 16 and sold 413,000 copies. Another new title, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name from Sega, sold 155,000 units across PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 platforms. However, Nintendo dominated the month with 964,000 physical game sales, outperforming Konami's 438,500 and Sega's 178,000. The second best-selling title was Super Mario RPG, with 356,000 units sold, followed by Super Mario Bros Wonder, which sold 287,000 copies. In terms of physical game units sold, Nintendo accounted for 42% of the market, while Konami held 19%, and Sega secured 8%.
