Triple Topping Game Studio Files for Bankruptcy
Triple Topping, an independent game development studio, has announced that it is ceasing operations due to bankruptcy, resulting in the redundancy of its staff. CEO Astrid Refstrup cited the challenges faced by the studio in 2023 as the primary reason for this decision. In a social media statement, Refstrup expressed her regret, stating, "Leading a studio is a privilege and a significant responsibility. Unfortunately, I was unable to fulfill this responsibility without consequences for my team in the past year. I apologize to our team and partners." Refstrup also reflected on the studio's achievements, saying, "Over the past eight years, we have set a high standard for work ethics in the industry and created engaging stories through our games." Founded in 2017 by Refstrup and Simon Stålhandske, Triple Topping has developed notable titles such as Spitkiss, Ynglet, and Welcome to Elk. Regarding the studio's existing games, including Welcome to Elk, Ynglet, and the upcoming Dead Pets Unleashed, Refstrup assured that plans are in place and will be shared soon. Dead Pets Unleashed is currently slated for release in 2024.
