Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo Event Cancelled Amid Staff Threats
Following persistent threats against its staff, Nintendo has made the decision to cancel its upcoming fan event, Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo. Although the nature of these threats has not been disclosed, they have reportedly extended to include both employees and attendees of the Splatoon Koshien 2023 National Finals. As a precautionary measure, Nintendo has chosen to postpone several tournaments, including the Splatoon 3 World Championship 2024, the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Online Challenge Final Stage, and the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe World Championship 2024, all of which were originally scheduled to take place during the event. New dates for these tournaments will be announced once they are determined. The cancellation of Nintendo Live 2024 Tokyo, which was set to occur from January 20 to 21 at the Tokyo Big Sight convention centre, comes after the event's announcement just last week. This decision prioritizes the safety of both staff and attendees, reflecting the company's commitment to providing a secure environment for its fans.
