TinyBuild Adjusts Revenue Projections and Resolves Dispute with Versus Evil
In a recent update, Hello Neighbor publisher TinyBuild announced a revision to its revenue forecasts for the fiscal year, citing unusually weak performance in October. The company now anticipates revenues between $40 million and $50 million for the full year, below initial expectations. Additionally, TinyBuild does not expect to achieve its targeted cash position by the end of December, having ended November with $5.7 million and no debt. The games market has further deteriorated since the company's half-year results were published in September. Negotiations for multiple large contracts have been extended and may not be finalized by the end of 2023. The forecasts have also been impacted by Versus Evil's delay of three out of four games initially planned for release in the second half of the year. TinyBuild's outlook for fiscal year 2024 remains cautious, but the upcoming launch of certain titles next year brings optimism. CEO Alex Nichiporchik noted that the company could not overcome the weak demand for video games and the sudden reversal of market dynamics. TinyBuild has also settled a legal dispute with Versus Evil and its general manager Steve Escalante, agreeing to pay $3.5 million in cash, in addition to legal costs. Reports have emerged of significant layoffs, with up to 30% of staff affected across three studios in Serbia.
