Phil Spencer Confirms Game Pass Exclusivity to Xbox

Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, has reaffirmed that Game Pass will remain exclusive to Xbox and not expand to PlayStation or Nintendo Switch. In an interview with Windows Central, Spencer stated that extending the subscription service to competing platforms is not a part of their current plans. This clarification comes after a statement by Xbox CFO Tim Stuart, who mentioned the company's goal of making its subscription services available on all devices capable of playing games. Instead, Spencer emphasized Xbox's commitment to innovating its hardware and subscription offerings. He highlighted Game Pass as a key component of Xbox's identity, noting its presence on PC and cloud platforms. Spencer also discussed Microsoft's significant investment in Game Pass, revealing that the company spends over $1 billion annually to support the service, including funding for third-party games.
