CD Projekt Reaches Agreement with Investors Over Cyberpunk 2077 Launch Controversy

CD Projekt has resolved a lawsuit with its investors, who claimed the company provided misleading information about Cyberpunk 2077's quality at launch. The US District Court for the Central District of California granted final approval of the settlement on November 28, marking the end of the legal proceedings, as disclosed in a regulatory announcement by the Polish game developer. The lawsuit, which was settled for $1.85 million, did not require CD Projekt to acknowledge the allegations. The lawsuit was initiated by the New York-based Rosen Law Firm in December 2020 on behalf of the studio's investors, who alleged that CD Projekt provided false information about Cyberpunk 2077's performance on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles at launch. The lawsuit claimed that the company made false statements and failed to disclose that the game was almost unplayable on current-generation Xbox and PlayStation systems due to numerous bugs and other issues.
