Former Xsolla Executive Files Lawsuit Against the Company

A lawsuit has been filed against Xsolla by its former Vice President of Global Accounting, as reported by a Southern California news outlet. The plaintiff, Emil Aliyev, was hired by Xsolla in April to oversee the company's financial compliance. Shortly after his appointment, Aliyev allegedly discovered a $40 million discrepancy in the company's accounts, which he found had been transferred to an account belonging to Xsolla's founder, Alexander Agapitov. Aliyev claims that he notified management about the issue, emphasizing that the loan to Agapitov was not in compliance with standard financial protocols, but no action was taken. Following a meeting with Agapitov and the incoming CFO, Aliyev was terminated from his position, allegedly for violating company policies. He is now suing Xsolla for wrongful termination and retaliation against a whistleblower. In response to the lawsuit, Xsolla's interim CEO, Chris Hewish, stated that the company categorically denies the allegations, deeming them meritless, and intends to vigorously defend against the claims. Hewish also assured that the lawsuit will not affect the company's operations or financial performance.
