Embracer Group to Officially Shut Down TimeSplitters Developer

According to recent reports, Embracer Group is set to close Free Radical Design, the studio behind TimeSplitters, on December 11. This information was supposedly confirmed via an internal email from Lars Jannsen, Plaion's VP of worldwide studios and talent. The email expressed gratitude for the team's dedication and outstanding work. The news emerged 20 days after speculation that the studio might be closed as part of Embracer's evaluation. Although UK law requires a month's consultation prior to layoffs, there is still a possibility that the studio could be saved if acquired by a third party. However, Embracer has since denied the report, stating that no such email was sent and no decision has been announced regarding the closure of Free Radical Design.
