EA Sports FC 24 Regains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts for Black Friday

EA Sports FC 24 has reclaimed the number one position in the UK charts during Black Friday week, surpassing Hogwarts Legacy to take the top spot. The game experienced a significant 101% surge in sales, primarily driven by PS5 sales. According to GfK, this increase contributed to a 7% rise in overall physical game sales in the UK compared to the previous year's Black Friday event. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 dropped to third place with a 30% decline in sales, while Super Mario Bros Wonder and Spider-Man 2 secured fourth and fifth places, respectively, with slight increases in sales. The Black Friday discounts had a positive impact on various titles in the UK physical charts, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which jumped from 32nd to 10th place after a 400% increase in sales. God of War Ragnarok entered the Top 20 at 18th place with a 102% spike in sales, and Resident Evil 4 moved up to 22nd place from 36th the previous week. Additionally, retailer promotions helped several titles re-enter the charts, such as F1 23, which saw a 302% increase in sales. Other games that benefited from Black Friday deals include Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, Stray, WWE 2K23, Lego Harry Potter Collection, and Just Dance 2023.
