Stefan Heikhaus Takes the Helm as New Director of Gamescom

The German Games Industry Association has appointed Stefan Heikhaus as the new director of Gamescom, tasking him with driving the event's continued evolution, including its associated events such as Gamescom Asia and GamescomLAN, following in the footsteps of Christian Baur. With a diverse background in marketing, Heikhaus brings experience from his time at Bullitt, where he led marketing efforts in the DACH region for six years. Additionally, he spent three years at Microsoft, overseeing mobile categories and operations in the same market. Earlier in his career, Heikhaus held marketing leadership roles at both Ubisoft and Sony. According to Heikhaus, "Gamescom consistently raises the bar for the games industry while also standing out as a format that draws significant attention from other global industries." Heikhaus further emphasized the importance of events like Gamescom, stating, "The significance of gatherings where industry professionals and the broader community come together cannot be overstated, even in the digital age of gaming."
