Nordcurrent Acquires River End Games

Nordcurrent, a prominent mobile game publisher, has recently acquired River End Games, a game development studio based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Founded in 2020 by Jonas Nordling, Anders Hejdenberg, and Karl Broström, River End Games will maintain its independence while operating under Nordcurrent. The studio has been working on a single-player game for PC and console platforms, scheduled for release in 2025, which will now be published by Nordcurrent Labs. According to Victoria Trofimova, CEO and co-founder of Nordcurrent, the acquisition marks a significant step in the company's strategy to diversify its portfolio beyond mobile gaming, where it has experienced a decade of success with titles like Cooking Fever and a large user base. "The PC and console gaming landscape is witnessing rapid innovation, and we are excited about the prospect of Nordcurrent and River End Games playing an active role in shaping this evolving market," Trofimova added. The acquisition is part of Nordcurrent's efforts to expand its operations into new areas beyond mobile games.
