Nick Poole Appointed as UKIE's New Chief Executive Officer

The UK Interactive Entertainment trade body has confirmed Nick Poole as its incoming CEO, effective April 1, 2024. Poole, who currently serves as CEO of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals, will take the reins from interim co-CEOs Sam Collins and Dan Wood. He succeeds Jo Twist, who departed UKIE to become CEO of the British Phonographic Industry. With eight years of experience as CEO of CILIP and previous roles at the Collections Trust, Poole brings a wealth of expertise in growing professional membership associations and government liaison. He has also worked with UKIE initiatives and has experience in commissioning educational games. Poole expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "I am excited to leverage my experience to help the UK's video games and interactive entertainment industry secure the recognition and investment it deserves." He also acknowledged the leadership of his predecessors and the UKIE team, saying, "I would like to thank Jo Twist, Tim Woodley, and the UKIE board, as well as Sam Collins, Dan Wood, and the dedicated UKIE team, for positioning the organization for success in this new era." UKIE Chair Tim Woodley welcomed Poole, saying, "After a thorough six-month search, we are delighted to have found a candidate with the ideal combination of CEO experience, growth expertise, lobbying prowess, and a deep understanding of leading an organization with purpose and equality." Woodley also thanked the interim co-CEOs and the UKIE team for their efforts during the transition period.
