Samurai Punk Announces Studio Closure

After a decade of operation, Australian game developer Samurai Punk has revealed that it will be ceasing operations. The announcement, made via the studio's website and social media channels, outlined the difficult decision to discontinue game development. In a statement signed by directors Winston Tang and Nicholas McDonnell, the team expressed gratitude to their staff for the nine exceptional games produced during their time together. The founders reflected on the studio's origins, which date back to 2014, when they came together to create innovative gaming experiences due to limited job opportunities in Australia at the time. Over the years, the developers have grown and learned more about their artistic aspirations in the video game industry, ultimately leading them to decide that it is time to go their separate ways and pursue new endeavors. Although the studio is closing down, it has confirmed that some level of support will be maintained for its existing titles to ensure their continued presence.
