Junghun Lee Appointed as Nexon's New Chief Executive Officer
Nexon has made the announcement that Junghun Lee will be taking on the position of representative director, president, and CEO of the company. Currently serving as the CEO of Nexon Korea, Lee is scheduled to step into his new role in March 2024. He will be succeeding Owen Mahoney, who has been at the helm of Nexon as CEO and president since 2014. Mahoney will be transitioning into a senior advisory position and is also up for re-election to the company's board of directors. With a tenure of nearly two decades at Nexon, Lee has risen through the ranks, having held various key roles such as manager of the FIFA department at Nexon Korea and vice president of business for Nexon Korea. In a statement, Lee expressed his enthusiasm for leading the company into its next phase, stating, "I am honored and excited to lead the company into its next generation. Our robust foundation of live virtual world franchises has demonstrated unprecedented growth and stability, our global team of operators and developers is world-class, and our commitment to innovation in new game development as well as technology sets us up for a new generation of growth worldwide."
