Nintendo Delays Launch of New Development Facility

The launch of Nintendo's new development facility has been pushed back to 2028, as the company has opted to expand its plans. In a statement to investors, Nintendo announced that its initial timeline to complete construction by 2027 has been adjusted due to a decision to 'scale up the building.' Nintendo emphasized that this second development center will be crucial in bolstering its research and development capabilities. According to reports from Nikkei, as cited by VGC, the expansion is intended to accommodate increased recruitment efforts, necessitating additional floors. Nintendo had acquired a 10,000 square meter site in Kyoto last April for ¥5 billion ($33.1 million) to build this facility, with construction initially slated for completion by December 2027.
