Crunchyroll Expands Subscription Service with New Game Offerings

Crunchyroll has become the latest streaming platform to incorporate mobile games into its subscription-based service. The Crunchyroll Game Vault, launched on November 7, is exclusively available to subscribers of the Mega and Ultimate Fan tiers. According to reports, the Crunchyroll Game Vault will initially be accessible on Android devices via the Google Play store, with an iOS release slated for the near future. The service will debut with a lineup of five games, including the mobile premieres of Captain Velvet: The Jump+ Dimensions by Momo-pi, River City Girls by WayForward, and Wolfstride by Ota Imon Studios. Additionally, subscribers will have access to Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery by Silver Lining Studio and Inbento by Afterburn. This move into gaming follows a similar expansion by Netflix, which has seen minimal engagement from its subscribers. Earlier this year, insights were shared on the development of a video game based on a Japanese manga publisher's intellectual property.
