Eiji Aonuma Receives Prestigious French Honor

The French Minister of Culture has conferred the distinguished title of Chevalier of the Order of Arts and Letters upon Eiji Aonuma, renowned producer of the iconic Zelda series. According to French news outlets, Aonuma's contributions to the development of the beloved adventure franchise earned him this esteemed recognition. Having joined the series in the late 1990s, Aonuma took on the role of producer in 2007. His notable credits include co-directing the classics Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, as well as directing Wind Waker. As reported by Nintendo France, the latest installment, Tears of the Kingdom, which launched in May, has achieved remarkable sales of over one million units in France alone. Aonuma's induction into the Order of Arts and Letters places him alongside fellow industry luminaries, including Shigeru Miyamoto, Michel Ancel, and Peter Molyneux, who have also received this honor.
